Self-leveling compounds are chemical mixtures used to smooth uneven concrete or wooden floors. They are composed of cement, sands, fillers, and modified by a range of additives such as cellulose ethers, plasticizers, defoamers, stabilizers, and redispersible powders. As a flowable, self-leveling and self-smoothing material, self-leveling compounds can produce a flat, smooth, and hard surface that has excellent compressive strength.

In finishing a large self-leveled surface, curing becomes problematic, since any coverings will cause surface blemishes. Thus no cover could be used for curing. Micelo HPMC’s water retention ability al lows the placed surface develop strength via proper hydration whi le delaying the onset of shrinkage, thereby reducing the likel ihood of cracking.
Increases Final Strength
Because of the large surface area to volume ratio, incomplete hydration due to evaporation becomes one primary causes of premature strength fai lure of self-level ing compounds. High water retention abi lities of Micelo HPMC can prevent such fai lures by al lowing cement to hydrate completely, thus allowing higher strength to be developed.
